Abstract

ChemInform Abstract 3,4-Disubstitued 1-aryl-2-azetidinones such as the compounds (I) -(III), which are possible precursors of various natural products, are prepared by enantiospecific synthesis. Their functional groups and absolute configurations are manipulated by stereospecific reactions to produce the corresponding antipodes.
