ChemInform Abstract: Stabilization of the Oxidation State M(IV) in the Ni5MB2O10 Type (M: V4+, Mn4+).

Abstract: Single crystals of the hitherto unknown title compounds are grown from a B2O3 flux after reaction of V2O5 (MnO2 or Mn2O3) with NiO in a large excess of B2O3 at 1200‐1300 °C. Both compounds crystallize orthorhombic in the Ni5TiB2O10 structural type (Pbam, Z=2).
