Abstract: Stabilization by Si Substitution of the Pseudobinary Compound Gd 2(Co 3-xSix) withMagnetocaloric Properties Around Room Temperature. -The new solid solution Gd 2(Co3-xSix) (0.29 < x < 0.50) is obtained by arc-melting of the elements. Although Gd2Co3 does not exist, the solid solution can be stabilized by substituting a small amount of cobalt by silicon.
