241ChemInform Abstract With a view to understanding the ability of HMPA to form cation-ligand complexes and effectively solvate a variety of lithium salts and thus activate and modify the chemical behavior of lithium salts and organolithium reagents, the effect of HMPA on metalation reactions with PhLi or LiBPhEt3 is investigated by 7Li and 31P NMR spectra.
