ChemInform Abstract: Some N‐Mannich Bases of 2(3H)‐Benzothiazolones and Their Analgesic Activity.

Abstract: Some N-Mannich Bases of 2(3H)-Benzothiazolones and Their Analgesic Activity. -A series of Mannich bases (VI) is synthesized by reaction of benzothiazoles (III) with formaldehyde (V) and the secondary amines ( IV). All compounds are tested for their analgesic activity. -(PETROV, O. I.; ANTONOVA, A. TS.; KALCHEVA, V. B.; DALEVA, L. D.; Med. Chem. Res. 5 (1995) 6, 442-448; Dep. “…The acylation of 2(3 H )‐benzoxazolone and 2(3 H )‐benzothiazolone was previously studied and was found to proceed with high regioselectivity [8–10]. The precise position of acylation was unequivocally assigned by X‐ray single‐crystal diffraction in the case of 6‐benzoyl‐2(3 H )‐benzoxazolone and 6‐benzoyl‐2(3 H )‐benzothiazolone [11, 12].…”

“…As the Friedel-Crafts acylation of 2(3H)-benzothiazolone was previously studied and was found to proceed with high regioselectivity in position 6 [23][24][25], the access to the 5-benzoyl derivatives of 2(3H)-benzothiazolone was realized by us using an alternative route (Scheme 1).…”

“…[25][26][27][28][29] , and were reported as potential analgesic and anti-inflammatory agents. [30][31][32][33][34] All the facts discussed above and in continuation of our research on nitrogen and sulfur containing heterocycles, inspired us to develop an efficient and simple synthesis of a new series of benzothiazolone derived Schiff's base derivatives (Figure 1), which may exert potent pharmacological action.…”
