Abstract

Selective Synthesis of Polyamine Derivatives: Efficient Derivatization of the Secondary Amino Group of N-Monosubstituted 1,3-Diamines. -The 2-phenyl substituted pyrimidine (IIIc) proves to be the efficient intermediate for the selective functionalization of secondary N-atoms of amines (I) and (X). Its reaction with electrophiles like Ac2O or isocyanates provides the desired compounds (V), (VIII) and (XI) as main products. The ratio of (V)/(VI) and (VIII)/(IX) depends mostly on the bulkiness of the C-2 substituent at the pyrimidine and less on the nature or the size of the electrophile. -(JENTGENS, C.; HOFMANN, R.; GUGGISBERG, A.; BIENZ, S.; HESSE, M.; Helv.
