ChemInform Abstract: Reactions of Carbenes with Organosilanes. Part 9. Reaction of Ethoxycarbonylcarbene with (Halomethyl)silanes.

Abstract

ChemInform Abstract Ethoxycarbonylcarbene, generated by thermolysis of ethyl diazoacetate (II), reacts with the silanes (I) to give the halomethylsilylacetates (III). In the presence of bromomethyltrimethylsilane, only the dimerization products of ethoxycarbonylcarbene, maleic and fumaric acid ethyl ester (IV) are obtained under these conditions.
