ChemInform Abstract: Reaction of Phosphorus(III) Isocyanates with Phosphorylated Unsubstituted and Dichloro‐Substituted Acetaldehyde.

Abstract: ChemInform Abstract Reaction of the isocyanates (I) with the phosphorylacetaldehydes (II) followed by aqueous working up gives the diphosphorylethyl carbamates (III). The reaction proceeds via the corresponding oxazaphospholines as shown for (IVa) and (IVb).

“…134 The reaction of 122 with isocyanates of trivalent phosphorus compounds proceeds by a [3+2] cycloaddition reaction with formation of oxazaphospholines (72-75%). 135 With iso-PrSH, 122 forms a hemithioacetal, the trimethylsilyl derivative of which, in boiling xylene, undergoes a transposition of the (original) carbonyl group to the α-position via an epoxyphosphonate. 136…”
