ChemInform Abstract: Preparation of the Trianions of Acetylacetone and Acetoacetanilide and Their Reactions with Selected Electrophilic Reagents for the Synthesis of New Heterocyclic Compounds and Related Materials.

Abstract: The trianion salt (IV), prepared by reaction of acetylacetone (I) with NaH (II) and excess LDA (III), reacts with benzophenone (V) to give the dihydroxy diketone (VI).
