Abstract:ChemInform Abstract Hydrogen molybdenum bronzes, HxMoO3, with x = 0.21 (type I), x = 1.55 (type III), and x = 1.90 (type IV) are prepared by Glemser's method, whereas the type-II bronze (x = 0.91) can be isolated single phase only from the type-III bronze by standing in air for 120 d. The bronzes with high hydrogen contents are less stable and upon heating in air successively decompose with H2 evolution yielding the corresponding bronze with lower hydrogen content (XRD, IR, TG-DTA).
