Abstract

The photo‐Beckmann rearrangement of the oximes (Ia)/(Ib), (IVa), or (VII) under the conditions outlined in the scheme leads to the enamine‐type lactams (II), (V), or (VIII) as the main products whereas the Beckmann rearrangement reactions (method B)) produce the enone‐type lactams (IX), (X), or (XII).
