Abstract:Phase Transition in β-Rhombohedral Boron Near 550 K. -Differential scanning calorimetry indicates a structural phase transition of high-purity single crystal β-rhombohedral boron close to 550 K. This transition is responsible for discontinuities of numerous physical properties in this temperature range, which are interpreted assuming site hopping of boron atoms between regular, partially occupied crystallographic sites. -(HOFFMANN, S.; WERHEIT*, H.; Solid State Sci. 14 (2012) 11-12, 1572-1577, http://dx.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
