Abstract:Procedure. -The reaction is performed with equimolar amounts of aryl iodide and terminal alkyne leading to full conversion upon sufficiently long reaction times and without a copper catalyst. Replacement of triethylamine by the greener base KOH succeeds in the presence of the surfactant sodium dodecylsulfate. Neither isolation nor purification of the products requires use of organic solvents, but simple filtration. The catalyst is recycled and reused for preparative-scale processes, which require longer reacti… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
