Abstract: Bei der Oxidation von 3‐Caren (I) mit Quecksilberacetat in Essigsäure zunächst bei Zimmertemperatur und dann bei 86°C wird zuerst die Bildung von Quecksilber(I)‐acetat beobachtet, das dann unter Abscheidung von Quecksilber (81%) zerfällt.
