Abstract:Novel Erythromycins from a Recombinant Saccharopolyspora erythraea Strain NRRL 2338 pIG1. Part 1. Fermentation, Isolation, and Biological Activity.-Novel C-13 erythromycins, e.g. (I), are produced by the feeding of exogenous fatty acids to a recombinant S-erythraea strain. Among them compound (Ia) exhibits impressive in vitro antibacterial activity. -(PACEY, MICHAEL S.; DIRLAM, JOHN P.; GELDART, RODERICK W.; LEADLAY, PETER F.; MCARTHUR, HAMISH A.
