ChemInform Abstract: New Isoformula Borates with Similar Structures and Different Properties — Acentric Nonlinear Optical KGd[B6O10(OH)2] and Centrosymmetric KHo[B6O10(OH)2].

Abstract: Single crystals of KGd[B6O10(OH)2] (I) are prepared by hydrothermal reaction of Gd2(CO3)3, K2CO3, KBr, and B2O3 in the presence of SiO2 (H2O, pH = 5.6, autoclave, 290 °C, 18‐20 d) at pH 5.6 for (I) and pH 7.8 for (II).
