Abstract

Nature of Acid-Catalyzed Alcoholysis of Amides of Trivalent-Phosphorus Acids.-Treatment of phosphorus chlorides of type (I) with amines leads to the corresponding amides which are purified from amine hydrochlorides using simple and efficacious techniques. In the presence of catalytic amounts of amine hydrochlorides, these amides undergo alcoholysis to yield products like (V). The rate constant depends on the amount of amine hydrochloride and their acidity. Treatment of amides with strong acids like HBF4 results in formation of the corresponding salts. -(NIFANTYEV, E.
