Abstract

ChemInform Abstract The kinetics of the title reactions are studied by IR spectroscopy. The rates of these reactions depend on the nature of the axial ligand L. For all the ligands of (Ia) the rates are second order and virtually uneffected by the nature of L. For (Ib) the reactions are biphasic and autocatalytic. It is shown that the autocatalysis probably involves Co(II) species, a mechanism is proposed.
