ChemInform Abstract: Investigation of Complex Oxide Phases of the System Bi2O3‐WO3, Prepared by the Alkoxo Method.

Abstract: ChemInform Abstract Hydrolysis of a mixture of Bi(OEt)3 and WO(OEt)4 in an ethanolic solution affords directly crystalline complex oxide phases (containing up to 35 mol% of WO3). Solid solutions with a face-centered cubic structure, which occur between 20 and 35 mol% WO3 crystallize already at 20 rc C. The ferroelectric Bi2WO6 crystallizes from an amorphous matrix in one stage after short term thermal work-up at 450 rc C.
