Abstract

Investigation of Alkyne Regioselectivity in the Ni-Catalyzed Benzannulation ofCyclobutenones. -In general, the title reaction proceeds with low levels of regioselectivity. Alkynes bearing aryl groups offer better regiocontrol, but exhibit lower reactivity. Addition of norbornadiene as a promotor can provide improved yields in these cases.
