Abstract

ChemInform Abstract Friedel-Crafts acylation of the 1-acylindoles (I) with acetyl chloride (II) gives the 3-acyl-1-acetylindoles (III). With chloroacetyl chloride (V), however, the 6-acyl derivatives (VI) are formed.
