Abstract:Sulfonamides Q 0560Improved Process for the Preparation of Tamsulosin Hydrochloride. -Ellman's sulfinamide reagent (II) is used in the asymmetric synthesis of the amphetamine derivative (IV), a key intermediate in the preparation of the antihypertensive drug Tamsulosin. Optimized crystallization with dibenzoyl tartrate improves the optical purity of the crude hydrochloride up to > 99% (no yields given). -(REDDY*, A. V.; RAO, S. U. B.; NARASIMHA, G. L.; DUBEY, P.
