Abstract: Aus den beiden Phenylacetonen (Ia) und (Ib) entstehen mit (II) nach Reformat die Hydroxyester (IIIa) und (IIIb), die zu den Olefinen (IVa) und (IVb) bzw. () und (Vb) dehydratisiert und dann zu den entsprechenden freien Säuren (VIa), (VIb) bzw. (VIIa) und (VIIb) verseift wurden.
