ChemInform Abstract: High Pressure‐Temperature Aqueous Oxidations. Part 4. A Kinetic Study of the Oxidation and Enolization of Cyclohexanone in the Presence of Catalytic Metal Ions.
Abstract:ChemInform Abstract The oxidation of (II) is first order in (II), zero order in oxygen, and one-half order in Cu ion. Acidic oxidation products such as (III) and (IV) inhibit the oxidation. Acetate and deuterium ions catalyze the enolization of (II). It is assumed from the kinetic study and activation parameters that no enolate intermediate but a peroxy intermediate with Cu ions is formed in the oxidation. Ag+ and Fe3+ also catalyze the oxidation.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
