Abstract: Das nach bekannten Methoden aus Dimethyl‐3,3‐tetramethylenglutarat dargestellte Hydroxyketon (I) wird mit Na‐borhydrid zum entsprechenden trans‐Diol reduziert, dessen Spaltung mit wäßrigem Na‐metaperjodat den Glutaraldehyd (II) liefert.
