Abstract

2002 ring closure reactions ring closure reactions O 0130 15 -038 Directions of Heterocyclization in Reactions of 4,6-Dimethyl-2pyrimidinesulfenyl Chloride with 2-Allylphenol. -In the reaction of pyrimidinesulfenyl chloride (I) with alkene (II) in chloroform, the ring is closed by the pyrimidine nitrogen atom forming the thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidine (III), whereas in nitromethane in the presence of lithium perchlorate, the condensed heterocycle (IV) and 2,3-dibenzofuran (V) are obtained. -(BORISOV, A.
