281ChemInform Abstract The 1:1 molar reaction of the Schiff base complexes (I) with the bis(diketonato) complexes (II) leads to the formation of the heterobinuclear complexes (III) in which M1 is four-coordinated and M2 six-coordinated. The structure of the title complex (IIIa) (M1: Cu, M2: Zn; space group P1, Z=2) is determined by X-ray analysis. The four-coordinate Cu atom is in a distorted planar environment, Zn ina distorted octahedron. The complexes are characterized by magnetic susceptibility measurements.
