ChemInform Abstract: Cytosine Complexes with Copper(II) Perchlorate.

Abstract: 280ChemInform Abstract Cu perchlorate and cytosine monohydrate react in a mixture of triethylorthoformate and EtOH under reflux to yield the complex (I), which has a square-planar CuN4 chromophore (IR data); the ligands bind via N(3). Using ethyl acetate instead of EtOH, a complex is obtained which is supposed to have bi-or polynuclear structure from the stoichiometry, insolubility and subnormal magnetic moment. It istentatively formulated as (II) (no yields given).
