Abstract

Cycloadditions of Dienophiles to Bisdialine and Stereochemistry of the Adducts.-Different types of cycloaddition reactions with (I) are investigated. The products may be interesting precursors for the synthesis of novel binaphthyl derivatives. The stereochemistry of compounds (II), (III), (VII), and (IX) are determined by X-ray analysis. It is noteworthy that compound (II) rearranges directly to the furan (V) without an observed stable intermediate.
