ChemInform Abstract: Crystal Structure of [PhMe3N]4[Pb3Br10].

Abstract: structure structure (solids and liquids) D 2000 -013Crystal Structure of [PhMe 3 N] 4 [Pb 3 Br 10 ].-The title compound (III) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1 /c with Z = 2 (single crystal XRD). The structure consists of a two-dimensional anionic partial structure of Cs 4 Mg 3 F 10 type formed by sharing of four corners of each [Pb 3 Br 8 Br 4/2 ] 4− anion, which in turn consists of three face-sharing PbBr 6 octahedra.-(WIEST, TH.; BLACHNIK, R.; REUTER, H.

“…The Pb–Br sheets contain trimers of face-sharing octahedra linked through bridging bromides to adjacent trimers (Figure B), analogous with the structure of Cs 4 Mg 3 F 10 . The inorganic sublattice is also isostructural with the previously reported Pb–Br hybrid (tmpa) 4 Pb 3 Br 10 ( 2 ; tmpa = trimethylphenylammonium) …”

“…18 The inorganic sublattice is also isostructural with the previously reported Pb−Br hybrid (tmpa) 4 Pb 3 Br 10 (2; tmpa = trimethylphenylammonium). 19 Upon photoexcitation by 375 nm or higher-energy UV light, both 1 and 2 exhibit broad red PL at room temperature that extends into the near-infrared region (Figure 2A,B). The emission is extremely broad, with a peak wavelength of 685 nm, emission width of ca.…”
