Abstract: Crystal Structure, Magnetic, Electronic, and Thermal Transport Properties of Ternary Compounds REReB 4 (RE: Ce, Gd-Er, Yb). -LnReB4 with Ln: Tb-Er, Yb are synthesized from the elements by arc-melting and subsequent annealing at temperatures between 1073 and 1823 K for 12-700 h. CeReB 4 is prepared from mixtures of CeB 4 and rhenium powder by spark plasma sintering (1673 K, 5 h) followed by annealing at 1673 K for 2 d.
