Abstract

Structure D 2000Crystal Structure and Thermal Expansion Studies of α-VO(PO3)2. -The title compound is synthesized by solid state reaction of V 2 O 5 and (NH 4 ) 2 HPO 4 (650°C, 12 h) and characterized by powder XRD. At ambient temperature α-VO(PO3)2 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c with Z = 4. The compound shows significant thermal expansion in all three crystallographic axes.
