“…The performance of the Ni‐char catalyst in upgrading in situ bituminous pyrolysis tar was investigated, and the fraction of light tar in the tar product increased from 52 to 75 wt%. On the other hand, the recycled carbocoal and char were adopted in many thermal processes of coal as solid heat carrier, such as the L‐R process in Germany, DG process in China, and Garrett process in the U.S.A .
