ChemInform Abstract: Carbon‐Carbon Double Bond Cleavage Using Solid‐Supported Potassium Permanganate on Silica Gel.

Abstract

Silica gel‐supported potassium permanganate cleaves the polycyclic alkenes (I), (III), and (V) or the alkene (VII) under very mild conditions to give the carboxylic acids (II), (IV), (VI), and (VIII).
