Abstract: 303ChemInform Abstract The cis-hydridoneopentyl-Pt(II) complex (I) reductively eliminates neopentane and generates the diphosphine-Pt(0) intermediate (II) which is not observed directly. Its intermediacy is inferred from the presence of this moiety in the reaction products. Thus the intermediate (II) reacts with alkyl, trisilylmethyl, aryl, and benzyl C-H bonds to give the hydrido-Pt(II) complexes (IVa)-(IVe).
