Abstract:Anion-Exchange Reactions of Hydroxy Double Salts. -Hydroxy double salts (HDS) are prepared by reaction of a solid divalent metal oxide (MeO) with a solution of a divalent metal nitrate M(NO3)2 such as ZnO with M(NO3)2·6 H2O (M: Ni or Co), CuO with Zn(NO3)2·6 H2O, NiO with Cu(NO3)2·H2O. These layered salts of typical compositions ((Me,M)2(OH,NO3)4) and ((Me,M)5(OH)8)(NO3)2 easily exchange anionic surfactants for the interlayer nitrate anions. The anion exchange capacity is due to the exchange of anions in the h… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
