ChemInform Abstract: Alternate Layered Nanostructures of Metal Oxides by a Click Reaction.

Abstract: An alternating multilayer of titanium and tungsten oxides is synthesized by modifying layered titanium oxide with an alkene group and layered tungsten oxide with a thiol group, and causing a thiol—ene (click) reaction.

“…Alkene-immobilized tungstate nanosheets were prepared according to our reported procedure. 17,18,25 The XRD pattern of the alkene-immobilized layered tungstate (W 2 O 7 2− /C 6 -CC) is shown in Figure 2a. The peak at 2θ = 3.40°derived from the layered structure gives a d value (3.40 nm) attributed to the center-to-center distance of the neighboring layers.…”

“…In our previous report, the weight ratio of the titanate nanosheets and the tungstate nanosheets contained in the alternate-stacked structure was determined as 1:2 by means of inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). 18 Therefore, the amount of Pt(terpy) contained in the Ti 0.91 O 2 0.36− /Pt(terpy)-Ru(bpy) 3 2+ -W 2 O 7 2− can be estimated as 0.032 mmol g −1 . It should be noted that Ti 0.91 O 2 0.36− /Pt(terpy)-Ru(bpy) 3 2+ -W 2 O 7 2− cannot be dissolved because Pt species were not dissolved in an aqueous solution of hydrofluoric acid.…”
