Abstract: Alkylboronic Esters from Palladium-and Nickel-Catalyzed Borylation of Primary and Secondary Alkyl Bromides. -Cross-coupling reactions of primary alkyl bromides (I) with diboron reagent (II) give the desired organo-boron compounds (III) in the presence of a palladium catalyst. In contrast, secondary alkyl bromides are efficiently coupled using a nickel catalyst in the presence of a terpyridine ligand.
