Abstract

A Short Synthesis of a Thromboxane B2 Key Intermediate from (R)-2,3-Isopropylideneglyceraldehyde. γ-Lactones as Templates for Chemoselective cis-Annulation of Pyranosides. -The key step in the synthesis of the intermediates (IX) and (X) is the cyclization of the γ-lactone (VI). In addition, treatment of the ester (XI) with a vinyl cuprate is studied. The resulting ester is converted into the γ-lactone (XIV).
