Abstract:A New Precipitation Based Method for Preparation of Metasilicate Phosphors.-Alkaline earth metasilicates MSiO3 (M: Ca, Sr, Ba, Mg) are precipitated from aqueous solutions of metal nitrates by slow addition of Na2SiO3 solution followed by annealing of the formed precipitate (air, 700°C, 1 h). Activation by various dopants like Bi 3+ , Sn 2+ , and Pb 2+ , as well as Ce 3+ , Eu 3+ , and Dy 3+ is also achieved. The resulting phosphors are characterized by photoluminescence spectroscopy.
