Abstract:A New Bismuth Potassium Nitrate Oxide, Bi 1.7 K 0.9 O 2 (NO 3 ) 2 : Synthesis, Structure, Thermal Behavior, and Photocatalytic Properties. -The title compound is hydrothermally synthesized from a mixture of Bi(NO3)3 and KNO3 in H2O (tube furnace, 350°C, 2 h). The new compound is characterized by powder XRD, SEM, FTIR, and UV/VIS spectroscopy. Bi1.7K0.9O2(NO3)2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Immm with Z = 2.
