ChemInform Abstract: A Neutral Water‐Soluble Aluminum Complex of Neurological Interest.

Abstract

The 1:3 molar reaction of Al(NO3)3‐9 H2O with maltol in aqueous solution leads to the A1 complex (I) in good yield which is remarkably stable in pH range of 4‐9. This complex is characterized by spectroscopic studies (′H NMR, IR, MS) and X‐ray structural analysis (space group Pbca, Z=8) which confirms mer‐arrangement of the three ligands.
