Abstract

A Facile Asymmetric Synthesis of 1,2,3-Substituted Indenes.-A simple and efficient asymmetric synthesis of substituted indenes is described. The stereogenic center is obtained via Michael addition to the chiral α,βunsaturated amides (I), yielding single diastereomers (IV) after bisbenzylation and recrystallization.
