Chemical Reaction Effects on Flow Past an Accelerated Vertical Plate with Variable Temperature and Mass Diffusion in the Presence of Magnetic Field

Abstract: An exact solution to the problem of unsteady hydromagnetic flow past a uniformly accelerated infinite vertical plate with variable temperature and mass diffusion are presented, taking in to account the homogeneous chemical reaction of first order. The plate temperature as well as the concentration level near the plate increased linearly with time. The dimensionless governing equations are solved using Laplace-transform technique. The velocity, temperature and concentration fields are studied for different phys… Show more

“…The Nusselt number's graphical representations are compared with available literature solutions to verify the accuracy of this study. The Nusselt number is calculated for different radiation values at t = [0, 1] and by neglecting radiation parameters and found to match with available solutions of Muthucumaraswamy and Geetha 16 and Muthucumaraswamy and Velmurugan 17 . The results presented for isothermal temperature and ramped temperature in Figures 16 and 17 match the available results.…”

“…The main idea of MHD is that magnetic fields can induce currents in a moving conductive fluid, which creates forces on the fluid, and also changes the magnetic field parameter [1][2][3][4]. The set of equations which describe MHD is a combination of the Navier-Stokes equations of fluid dynamics and Maxwell's equations of electromagnetism.…”
