curve ifi the result of an average of three identical samples of LITERATURE CITED each OF the preservatives represented.Other evaporation or permanency studies are being made and from these, curves will be plotted to show not only the permanency of the oils but also the permanency of toxicity of the oils.It is believed that such a study will be even more important in revealing the true value of a hydrocarbon wood prescrving oil in its relation to the protection of wood over the expected life of the treated product.Snell and Shipley (9) pointed out the difference between permanency and permanency of toxicity, and further showed some of the relations between these factors and tho distillation pattern and specific gravity of the whole oil. CONCLUSION.Is a result of studies to date, it would appear that new source, of wood-preserving oils may be developed and specifications may bo drawn for all hydrocarbon-wood-preserving oils from whatever source they may be derivrd.(1) Baechler, It.
