Chemical Investigation of a Co-Culture of Aspergillus fumigatus D and Fusarium oxysporum R1

Abstract: Chemical investigation of a co-culture of two endophytic fungi Aspergillus fumigatus D and Fusarium oxysporum R1 from two traditional medicinal plants, Edgeworthia chrysantha Lindl. and Rumex madaio Makino, led to isolation of a new amide 1 and six known compounds, including neovasinin (2), neovasifuranone B (3), N-(2-phenylethyl)acetamide (4), α-linolenic acid (5), α-elaeostearic acid (6), palmitoleic acid (7). On the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis including 1D and 2D NMR, HR-ESI-MS and optical rot… Show more

“…Studies have pointed out that Fusarium could decompose cellulose and other organic compounds and could degrade phenolic compounds and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons at the same time ( Leite et al, 2008 ). Aspergillus could decompose proteins to produce volatile flavors and also produce organic acids ( Yu et al, 2021 ).…”

“…In short, the core bacterial community in the F-I-D was the most important driving force for the maturation of Daqu . Wheat might be the source of these fungi whose growth was inhibited during the Daqu making ( Yu et al, 2021 ). Another important reason was that these fungi in the environment transferred to the outer of Daqu and enriched in the maturation process and reproduced during maturation under suitable moisture and temperature, and finally increased its abundance in mature Daqu ( Du et al, 2019 ).…”

“…and Rumex madaio Makino. The metabolites did not show toxicity against human pathogens [ 35 ]. Finally, 2 was isolated, together with five undescribed α-pyrones named penpolonins A–E, from the endophytic fungus Penicillium polonicum Zalessky collected from the roots of Camptotheca acuminata Decne, showing a moderate cytotoxic activity [ 36 ].…”

“…Cyclosporin C belongs to one class of cyclic depsipeptides and is used as a cyclophilin inhibitor for the prevention or treatment of diseases or disorders, such as organ injury or organ failure [33,34]. Thirteen genes involved in the biosynthesis of cyclosporin C were highly similar (identities and similarities > 80%) with In our previous chemical investigation of strain R1, two novel polyketides (Figure 7a,b) along with eleven known substances (Figure 7c-m) had been isolated and characterized (Figure 7) [39][40][41]. Antimicrobial tests showed that compound 1 had a potent inhibitory effect on Staphyloccocus aureus ATCC 2592 with a MIC value of 6.25 µM and compound 6 displayed weak anti-Helicobacter pylori capability at 16 µM.…”
