Chemical constituents of the genus Trichosanthes (Cucurbitaceae) and their biological activities: A review

Abstract: Trichosanthes is one of the largest genera in the Cucurbitaceae family. It is constantly used in traditional medications to cure diverse human diseases and is also utilized as ingredients in some food recipes. It is enriched with a diversity of phytochemicals and a wide range of biological activities. The major chemical constituents in this plant genus are steroids, triterpenoids and flavonoids.
