“…Polyphenolic compounds derived from plants thanks to their antioxidant activity exhibit many medicinal properties such as anti-inflammatory [16], anticancer [17], antiatherogenic [18], antihemorrhagic [19], antibacterial [20], antifungal [21], antiviral [22], spasmolytic [23], diuretic [24], choleretic [25], and hepatoprotective [26] activity. Extracts from apple leaves are rich in phloridzin, which exhibit antidiabetic activity [27].…”

“…Other five known compounds were identified as aurantiamide acetate ( 2 ), 3‐formyl‐6‐methoxycarbazole ( 3 ), aralia cerebroside ( 4 ), uracil ( 5 ), thymine ( 6 ) by extensive 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy according to the reported data in the literatures. In our present phytochemical study, six nitrogen‐containing organic compounds, including three alkaloids ( 1 – 3 ), two nucleic acid‐containing nitrogenous bases ( 5 and 6 ) and one cerebroside ( 4 ) were isolated from the aerial parts of Bupleurum chinense DC.…”

“…Meanwhile, this herb could also reduce the risk of chronic and cardiovascular diseases and effectively improve the blood pressure and cholesterol levels in the human body (Xu et al., 2015). The health beneficial properties of Sedum aizoon L. have been confirmed to be attributed primarily to phytochemicals, such as flavonoids, phenolic acids, polysaccharose, and alkaloids according to the previous studies (Lin et al., 2014; Liu et al., 2012; Xu et al., 2019). For instance, it has been reported that Sedum aizoon L. contained high levels of myricetrin, myricetin, quercitrin, quercetin, gallic acid, and kaempferol (Lin et al., 2014; Liu et al., 2012; Xu et al., 2019; Yan, 2013).…”
