Abstract:The phylum Bryozoa includes a total of 185 species reported from the Turkish coasts of the Levantine Sea, the Aegean Sea, the Sea of Marmara, and the Black Sea. The class Gymnolaemata is represented by 159 species, followed by the class Stenolaemata (26 species). While the Aegean Sea had the highest species richness (139 species), the lowest bryozoan diversity (8 species) was reported from the Black Sea coast of Turkey. Only 2 alien species, Celleporaria brunnea and Rhynchozoon larreyi, were recorded from the … Show more

Koçak and Kemal (2009) presented the distribution of this species as Trabzon and Rize. In this study P. gigas collected from Ordu where western side of type location at 1700m altitude in early July.…”

“…Koçak et al (2007), Toper Kaygın et al (2009), Göktürk (2011 studied on Lepidoptera in some locations of this region and presented some geometrid records recently. But knowledge on Geometridae fauna related with Ordu province base on Can (2008), and Koçak and Kemal (2009). There are 21 species known form Ordu according to these studies.…”
In this study, 546 specimens where collection of Nazife Tuatay Plant Protection Museum belong Geometridae family collected by light trap from Ordu province between 1994 and 2007 were investigated. Totally 79 species belong to 4 subfamily were identified and 66 of which were reported for the first time from Ordu province. Distributions of species in Turkey were presented.

“…Furthermore, information on Bryozoa from several Mediterranean areas is fragmented in old publications and grey literature; the collation of updated checklists (e.g. Koçak and Aydın Önen 2014) by experts could contribute to the mapping of diversity for understudied taxa and areas (Bailly et al 2016, this special collection).…”
BackgroundUntil today, a complete checklist of Bryozoa of the Greek seas had never been published and species records were scattered in several taxonomic and ecological studies. The aim of this paper is to produce a first checklist of marine bryozoan species of Greece, in the framework of the Greek Taxon Information System (GTIS) initiative of the LifeWatchGreece Research Infrastructure (ESFRI), by reviewing the existing literature and following the recent trends in the taxonomy of this group. New informationThe marine bryozoan fauna of Greece comprises 237 species, classified in 127 genera, 66 families, 3 orders, and 2 classes. The vast majority belongs to the class Gymnolaemata (177 Cheilostomatida and 21 Ctenostomatida), while the remaining 39 species are Stenolaemata (all Cyclostomatida). Among these species, 12 are considered endemic to the eastern Mediterranean, while another 12 species are non-indigenous.
