Background Artificial intelligence, a rapidly advancing field, is characterized as a branch of computer science capable of human-like thinking and actions. Among the extensively utilized forms of AI is Natural Language Processing (NLP), enabling machines to think and communicate in a manner resembling humans. Numerous chatbots, such as Jasper chat, DialoGPT, Replika, and ChatGPT, have been introduced as part of these advancements. Methods The study employs a scoping review methodology, searching five databases with specific keywords related to ChatGPT and healthcare. Inclusion and exclusion criteria are defined, resulting in 17 relevant articles for analysis. The research process involves a thorough review, removal of duplicates, and quality assessment. Data analysis is conducted using content analysis. Results The 17 articles are categorized into three themes: Education & Evaluation, Research & Publication, and Care & Cure. Subthemes within each category detail the usages and challenges of ChatGPT in various contexts, including education, research, and patient care. Conclusion The paper evaluates the impact of ChatGPT in different domains, emphasizing its positive influence on data availability, learning experiences, and research processes. However, ethical concerns such as plagiarism, biases, and potential risks in patient care are identified. The authors advocate for the responsible use of ChatGPT, suggesting solutions like academic integrity rules and staff training.

Since its launch, ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence-powered language model tool, has generated significant attention in research writing. The use of ChatGPT in medical research can be a double-edged sword. ChatGPT can expedite the research writing process by assisting with hypothesis formulation, literature review, data analysis and manuscript writing. On the other hand, using ChatGPT raises concerns regarding the originality and authenticity of content, the precision and potential bias of the tool's output, and the potential legal issues associated with privacy, confidentiality and plagiarism. The article also calls for adherence to stringent citation guidelines and the development of regulations promoting the responsible application of AI. Despite the revolutionary capabilities of ChatGPT, the article highlights its inability to replicate human thought and the difficulties in maintaining the integrity and reliability of ChatGPT-enabled research, particularly in complex fields such as medicine and law. AI tools can be used as supplementary aids rather than primary sources of analysis in medical research writing.

Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, in particular language models like ChatGPT, are attracting attention for their potential ability to replicate human text generation. AI-powered helpers in education, like ChatGPT, have the potential to improve thesis writing. The experiences of Dhaka University students who used ChatGPT extensively to write their science education theses in Bangladesh were examined in this study. It compared the difficulties folks who do not utilize AI confront to the advantages experienced by frequent ChatGPT users. Data was acquired using semi-structured questionnaires and then evaluated using coding techniques utilizing a case study methodology. The results brought to light the difficulties researchers face regarding methodological decision-making, tools development, data interpretation, etc. ChatGPT proved to be a useful tool that offers new perspectives, effective comparisons, quick responses, and more comprehensible research. However, due to ChatGPT's limitations, cautious use was suggested. The incorporation of ChatGPT opens up fresh research opportunities, highlighting the interdependence of technical support and human intuition. With useful applications for educational settings, the study demonstrated AI's capability at various phases of the thesis. Its findings give educators and organizations pointers on how to use AI to improve thesis writing procedures and aid researchers in their scholarly endeavors.
